About Us

Leif Johnson Ford Truck City, affectionately known as Truck City Ford, began in Austin on Ben White Boulevard in 1963.  The oil derrick belonging to Truck City Ford stood as a proud landmark for Austin until 1989 when we moved out to Buda on I-35 next door to the 221 Truck Stop. 

Under the leadership of Lee Raines, General Manager of Truck City Ford, we have witnessed and been a part of the rapid growth in the Buda area, which extends northward to Manchaca and Austin and southward to Kyle and San Marcos.

Lee took control of Truck City Ford in December of 1997.  He aquired his BA at University of South Dakota in 1978.  His leadership extends beyond Truck City Ford.  He is a CPA and President of the Hays CISD Education Foundation, Treasurer of the Buda Chamber of Commerce, and Treasurer of the Buda Economic Development Corporation.  He and his wife, Gail, live in Buda and are also members at Onion Creek.

Lee's first goal was to bring Truck City Ford the highest possible awards in Customer Satisfaction.  Since then, Truck City Ford has won the President's Award and we were the first Ford Truck Dealer in Texas to win Blue Oval Certification.

Lee's leadership style is "accessibility to employees and customers alike" and that is why business is booming in Buda
